Pro Dive Mauritius, an outstanding service at the R Beach Club
If the diving clubs are numerous in the northern part of the island, few are those who offer an exceptional service such as Pro Dive as shown by their excellent rating on Tripadvisor of 5/5 with a rate of 94% customer satisfaction.
“We offer our customers the pleasure of diving safely”
Caroline from Pro Dive Mauritius
Both passionate about scuba diving, Caroline and Brice came to Mauritius 5 years ago. Their choice was to settle here: “We wanted to practice our passion and be next to the sea. Mauritius was the perfect destination. When the club opened in 2013 there were 4 employees. Today, the team has increased to 11with perfectly trained people united around the same ambition: Customer satisfaction. “Customers’ experience is our priority and we do our best on a daily basis: everything is designed so that the client is immersed in the best conditions for a unique and memorable experience. Our objective is to offer a personalized service and it is for this reason that we do not take groups but only couples or singles. “adds Caroline. Last month, Pro Dive Mauritius, the diving center has joined the premises of our R Beach Club: “Our new location is a real chance for us. Mauritius, exceptional sea beds
Mauritius is an exceptional playground for scuba diving lovers with its fantastic coral reef and its fabulous fauna and flora. Mont Choisy is a great spot for diving for several reasons. First of all, quite a few quality dive sites are in close proximity, only 15 to 20 minutes by boat to reach 25 dive sites whose depth may vary between 4 and 40 meters. 6 of these sites are wrecks.
In addition, the Mauritian climate is favorable to diving throughout the year, both summer and winter mainly the north-west part of the island is since it is protected by geographical location currents, trade winds and swells coming from the east and south-east coast. The sea is calm and makes diving pleasant and easy. All these conditions allow beginners to dive with peace of mind.
They were asked to share with us their best dive sites: “For us, the best dive site is the Stella Maru wreck. Very popular, this wreck is accessible for those still at their first levels because of its proximity to the surface: only 18 meters deep. It’s a magic place for a timeless visit. The site of the three anchors is also ideal for those who wish to see green turtles” adds Brice
Watch the video on Stella Maru wreck:
We can cross several species of aquatic animals. The sea beds around Mauritius have a wide variety of moray eels such as javanicus moray eels and more. Fans of macro photography will capture great pictures of Nudibranchs, these small underwater brightly colored mollusc. We can also see eagles’ rays or electric rays. Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, you won’t meet sharks when diving in the bay of Trou aux Biches.
From diving initiation to a pro level
Even beginners or experienced divers will find satisfaction. The initiation includes a 30-minute practice in the pool followed by a 45-minute dive between 7 and 10 meters deep. “The initiation exercise is important because it helps to calm anxious people by getting them used to breathing under the water with bottles. You just need to try and you will realise that anyone is able to do it!” Pro Dive allow experienced divers to pass all levels from “open water” to the “dive master” which is necessary to become a diving instructor.
Children from the age of 10 are also welcome. “Safety is very important for us, that’s why we ask each client to fill out a medical form, this form will enable us to adapt the diving sessions to each individual. ” adds Brice. The extra? For those accompanying the divers and who don’t want to go underwater, they can enjoy the R Beach Club, its swimming pool and restaurant.
